Identifying Your Unique Value for High-Paying Job Opportunities
In the last 2 weeks I’ve positioned 3 executive women for $300K+ jobs.
Each project is different, but there are methods I use for every client. Here are a few questions to ask yourself to help you identify your unique value:
✔ What have you done time and again at each organization, or as you moved up? What was the impact?
✔ What projects/processes/initiatives are you continually asked to lead?
✔ How do you lead?
✔ How do you leap over hurdles or move mountains?
✔ How do you build teams?
✔ What do others say is different about you?
✔ What are the personal qualities and characteristics you bring to each role?
I don’t ask clients these exact questions (mine are more open-ended and easier to answer), then I develop the strategy from those answers.
The kicker is then, how do these answers relate to what is required from the job description?
That is how you identify what you should include in your résumé and focus on in interviews.
So, to sum up:
✔ What do you bring that’s unique to you?
✔ What does the organization need?
➡ How are those a fit?
Taking the time to understand and be able to communicate your unique value will yield huge benefits in the executive job search.
