How a Single Word Can Transform Your Executive Résumé

My big win for the week is convincing a client to use the word 'overhauled' on her resume.

Pretty lame, right? 😆

Not to me!

One of the best parts of my super-personalized service, is helping people to step into their leadership and truly understand and convey the scope and scale of the work they've already done.

Our conversation went like this:

Client: I love the resume! And I'm surprised at how different it is and how it captures my leadership so clearly. I'm concerned about using the word 'overhaul' in this bullet though.

Me: Great, let's look at that. Okay, so you took process A that was lagging, went to stakeholders for input, gathered data, made changes, evaluated, and completely turned around the process, securing B results. Is that right?

Client: Yes.

Me: If someone else accomplished all that, would you think they could/should use the word 'overhaul' on their resume?

Client: Yes. I get it now.

We are so very often our own worst critics. 👎

The piece I love the very most about what I do, is helping you see how amazing you are and the incredible things you've already accomplished.

With a deep understanding of your strengths and the scale of your impact, you will feel comfortable going after that VP or C-level role.

That's the level of change I bring to my clients and why I keep doing this work.

It may sound small, but it was a great win for me!
