Why Flexibility Drives Success for Executive Teams and Women Leaders
I had a great conversation with a media executive client yesterday, where she was telling me about how she's built strong teams that have achieved significant growth. What do you think was the number one key?
➡ Flexibility.
Offering flexibility, trusting people to get their work done, and hiring people with integrity were all methods she named that contributed to their success.
From what I see with executive clients, flexibility, even over salary, is what drives people to bring their best selves and outperform. (And to switch jobs).
No matter how many (*male, cough*) Fortune 100 CEOs claim the opposite, now that we have employers who DO offer flexibility, they will inevitably win the 'war' for talent.
And of course this goes doubly for hiring women leaders, who are more often the primary caregiver for children and elderly relatives alike.
What's the best flexibility offer you've gotten from an employer? I'd love to know in the comments.
