Navigating Career Crossroads: The Tough Conversations that Lead to Clarity
I've had some tough conversations over the past three days. Conversations about uncertainty, transitions, and the weight of navigating career and leadership challenges.
- I talked with a friend who is in a tight situation at work and wondering whether to move on or stay in her current role. We talked over the pros and cons, especially related to where she is in life, as a mom, which is always, always, always part of the conversation for moms.
- I talked with someone who is simultaneously crushing their job and feeling seriously undervalued. We talked about how they can broach that topic with their boss, and update their resume and LinkedIn profile to secure more opportunities.
- I talked with someone who's been job searching for a while, a current client. Many of my clients move on quickly but not every one. I wish I had a magic wand for the job search but I don't. It's hard. You've got to put a lot of effort in even at mid-career to executive levels, to get somewhere right now. Networking and applying deeply rather than broadly is how I see people move on the fastest. We discussed new strategies that I'm hoping will move the needle.
I’m always honored when people trust me to help. It’s a privilege to hold space for someone as they figure out what’s next.
The truth is, these conversations are never easy. They require vulnerability, trust, and a willingness to dive deep into what really matters—our strengths, our values, and our vision for the future.
But here’s what I know for sure: on the other side of those tough moments is clarity, confidence, and often, a renewed sense of purpose.
If you’re facing a career or leadership crossroads, you’re not alone. Whether it’s naming your strengths, navigating a transition, or finding the courage to step into the next chapter, I’m here to help you see the path forward.
